Fed: Bishop says Beazley ready to take back the reins

A Labor frontbencher says KIM BEAZLEY still has the burning desire to become Labor
leader and take on Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD.

Opposition customs spokesman MARK BISHOP has told ABC radio he's noticed a gradual
change in Mr BEAZLEY over the past few months.

He says it's convinced him Mr BEAZLEY is ready to take back the reins of the embattled party.

Senator BISHOP says he believes if Mr BEAZLEY gets another shot at Labor's top job,
he'll hold nothing back when he takes on Mr HOWARD in next year's federal election.
